Waxing nose and ear hairs is quick and affordable
Too-long nose hairs or ear hairs protruding from the ear canal bother many men. Waxing is a quick, affordable and surprisingly painless solution that can be conveniently done during a barber visit.
Why is waxing a better option than plucking or using a trimmer?
Over the years many stories about nose-hair trimmers and people plucking bothersome hairs with tweezers have been heard on M Room’s benches and in their immediate vicinity. Plucking hairs with tweezers is slow and painful and cannot be recommended. Trimmers, on the other hand, only remove the length — the root stays in place and the hair grows back quickly.
Waxing removes hairs by the root, so they stay away for considerably longer. When waxing is done regularly during barber visits, you don’t have to worry about trimming yourself at all. On top of that, M Room’s own M Wax add-on services are an affordable option.
Frequently asked questions about waxing
Does waxing hurt?
Not much. Plucking a single hair with tweezers can hurt considerably more. Pain threshold is individual, but in practice every M Wax first-timer has reported waxing to be a less painful experience than they imagined.
How is waxing done?
The barber applies (comfortably) warm wax to the area to be waxed using a small stick. As it cools, the wax hardens around the hairs and one quick pull removes the hairs by the root.
Who is waxing suitable for?
Anyone who is bothered in any way by nose and/or ear hairs.
Are there any risks or downsides to waxing nose and ear hairs?
Nose and ear hairs have an important role as mechanical filters for impurities. However, in some people nose and ear hairs grow into noticeably visible places, which is not necessary for the hairs’ primary function. At the barber, a professional removes hairs from the front of the nostril and/or the opening of the ear canal — the procedure does not affect the hairs’ core function, it only makes the external appearance tidier.
