There’s nothing you need to do about grey hair, but many men want to blend it away or add depth to their natural color. At M Room, a color service doesn’t require an appointment, but it does take more of your time than a haircut: color needs processing time, and more demanding work can involve several stages.
So it’s worth joining the queue in advance in My M Room and setting aside a little extra time for your visit. You can also come straight to the barbershop and join the queue at the till.
M Room currently offers two types of color service. Between them they cover subtle deepening of your shade, blending greys, many types of highlights and lightening. Prices are “from” prices, because the final price depends on how extensive the work is and how long your hair is — more on that below.

Why prices are “from” prices?
The final price of a colour service depends on the work done and the length of your hair. The longer your hair, the more color and working time are needed.
Lightening and multi-tone work can also require more than one processing time. If the work involves several stages, the price rises according to how much time and product it takes.
That doesn’t mean the price is a mystery. Your barber will go through the price and the estimated duration with you before any work starts. With the most demanding lightening work, an exact price is hard to give in advance, but even then you’ll get a firm estimate — and you’ll be told if it changes along the way.
M Color or M Special Color?
Choosing a color service is trickier than choosing a hair cut service, because the difference isn’t only in how extensive the work is, but in what is actually done to the hair.
M Color suits conventional colour work where the result doesn’t need active upkeep. Lightly brightening your look with comb highlights can also fit within M Color, though this depends on your starting point.
M Special Color is your choice when the color is changed radically from what you have now. That means significant lightening, or a result that calls for several different colors, full grey coverage or a highlighting technique.
If you’re unsure what your dream hair would require, just tell your barber what you want. Before starting, they’ll tell you which service matches what you’re after and what it will cost.
How long does a color service take?
Hair dyes always have a processing time — the time it’s left in the hair before washing. Many people don’t think about this in advance, and it’s the most common reason a color service takes longer than expected.
A standard color has one processing time. Lightening and multi-tone work can have several, which makes the visit considerably longer.
Your barber will give you an estimated duration during the consultation. If you’re in a hurry, say so straight away – then you can work out together whether there’s time to do the job properly or whether it’s better to come back another day.
How long does the color last in my hair?
Permanent color never washes out completely; it fades gradually over time and with washing. The bigger the difference between your natural hair color and the color applied, the more visible the regrowth will be and the more often the color needs redoing.
A natural result close to your own color therefore needs less upkeep than a dramatic change. It’s worth bearing this in mind when you choose.
What’s included in the price?
The price of a color service includes the color treatment and a hair wash. A haircut is not included and is charged separately. See our hair cut services here.
After lightening, the hair structure often needs some care. You can add M Premium Extra services to your visit for €7–12, such as a K18Peptide™ molecular repair treatment combined with an extended scalp massage.
Our barbers are trained to the same standard across Finland, so you can rely on the quality of service at whichever M Room happens to be nearest you.

That depends on the result. The closer your natural hair color and the applied shade are to each other, the less the regrowth shows. A dramatic change shows more clearly at the roots and needs redoing more often.
